Joseph Yusko, CFA, CAIA, CIPM

Let Me Introduce Myself

My name is Joseph A. Yusko, but my friends call me Jay. Most Joseph's go by Joe, and that's alright too. You see, I was in kindergarten in the 90's and in my class there were three Joseph's and I was not going to be Joe Y., no, not with acronyms in full swing, I went by my initials and a great nick name was born. I am a seasoned investment professional with a passion for keeping one foot in investment management and the other in data science. I think the intersection of the two is were solutions lie, and solutions are what resonate with me. I have a wonderful fiancée, Heidi, and hopefully we will soon have a date for our wedding. In my personal time I try to keep busy with social dancing, weight lifting, and camping to stay active, but when I need rest, I spend by time tinkering with 3D printing, reading, and DIY.

Let's connect! Email me at [email protected] and say hi!

Career Aspirations

My greatest career aspiration is to bring impactful solutions to investment stakeholders. I have a deep passion for both investment management and data science and the intersection of these two, for me, is impactful solutions. Having started in the industry as an investment analyst on a fixed income portfolio management team and becoming a quantitative analyst on the same team, I found my trajectory. Later moving into faith-driven investing as portfolio manager and now Director of Investment Management, I seek to be an impactful Chief Solution Officer or an investment firm. Since that is not usually a position, The Chief Investment Officer role is where I hope to reach in my career. Most of all, I want to make impacts each day, and continue learning as I seek more impact. I believe better solutions for more investors are possible.

Professional Interests

My professional interests cover a wide and ever expanding range of material. Having started in the industry in fixed income investing, specially with laddered bond separately managed accounts, pension fund liability hedging, and derivative collateralization are particual focuses of mine. I currently spend more time focusing on faith based investing and retail investor actively managed separately managed accounts. With the small size of the faith based investing industry, I beleive there is value and room for bringing new solutions to make an impact for investors. In applying data science to investing, I find index replication strategies to be quite fascinating as something I became involved with in munincipal bond strategies and have since applied to broad and faith based equity strategies. I find 401(k) and 403(b) plan investment design a fascinating endevour. Lastly, having lead the project to achieving GIPS compliance for Faithward Capital, I have found myself interested in the nuances of performance measurement along the way. There is always room with me for more interests; I hope this list continues to grow.
